Acute Hemodialysis Services Vendor Questions & Request for Information (RFI) QUESTION: I have a question regarding the above referenced contract pertaining to Performance Standards in paragraph 4.5.4.3. This paragraph requires the Contractor personnel to perform weekly bacteria cultures of Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Dialysis machines, 100% of the time. This standard is also included on the Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP) Attachment. This amount is in excess of the standards set forth by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI). Although weekly tests are required in certain circumstances (i.e. new machines, water treatment system modification, etc.) the standard of practice is for monthly testing. As there are costs associated with cultures, can you confirm that performance of this contract requires cultures/testing in excess of the AAMI practice standards, or alternative, clarify this requirement? ANSWER: All intervals pertaining to the Performance Standards in paragraph 4.5.4.3 shall be changed from weekly to Bi-weekly for bacteria cultures of Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Dialysis machines on performance interval. QASP-Section 6 QASP Performance Report, PWS Reference 4.5.4.3. changed from weekly to Bi-weekly for bacteria cultures of RO and Dialysis machines on performance interval.
