The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VA Medical Center Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Network Contracting Office 09, is seeking sources that can provide a Level II stand-alone sterilization system, initial training on standard operating procedures, warranty, and procedures for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. This system allows for on-site, no-touch sterilization and disinfection of medical waste, with built-in overflow capacity for surge operations experienced during natural disasters and declared emergencies. In addition, the auto-clave can disinfect used personal protective equipment (PPE) making it safe for reuse if required (i.e. In the event new PPE is unavailable due to a pandemic level event that disrupts manufacturing and global supply chains). This unit will also ensure the VAMC can process medical waste without reliance on off-site contractors who can be negatively impacted in their capability to provide service during emergency lock-downs or issued stay-at-home orders.
