The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole-source, fixed-price contract with Abiomed, Inc. for preventive and corrective maintenance on Impella cardiac assist devices. The services will be performed at the Bay Pines VA Health Care System in Bay Pines, Florida. The government believes only one source is capable of providing these specialized services and authorized parts. Any business believing it can meet the scope may submit written notice by a specified time on January 30, 2026. The required maintenance includes replacing system batteries and fans, performing software upgrades, and providing loaner devices with shipping.
