The Orlando VA Medical Center - Pathology and Laboratory Medical Service (PLMS) requires a document control system to warehouse, catalog, manage and provide employee access to standard operating procedures and related documents which does not contain any form of patient identification or patient health Information. The system shall provide a centralized solution to provide continued education, document trainings, and build competency assessments for waived and non-waived testing personnel, track competency assessments status and electronically store supporting documentation. The document control system must be FedRAMP authorized, meets VHA Information System Security directives and move forward with modernization of the VA. Electronic document control is critical and necessary for maintaining effective compliance with industry standards, The Joint Commission, AABB, CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission, FDA, EPA, and 21 CFR Part 11 standards, as well as meeting VHA Patient Safety and Quality initiatives.
