General Description: The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 8, at VA Caribbean Healthcare System, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and NCO-8 intends to issue a Construction Services project. The purpose of this project is for construction services to Repair Damaged Exterior Wall at South Bed Tower. The South Bed Tower is a six-story building with a penthouse floor, elevator machine room floor and an upper elevator machine room floor. The building is connected in the north side in the first two floors by the Main Building. Estimated area to be repaired: approximately 450 sq. ft. Contractor shall verify square footage by means of a proper site visit and shall be responsible with the intent of the areas covered in this project. South Bed Tower walls needs repairs in order to avoid further damage to the building in case of heavy rain fall, which could cause water leakage into the building and roof. Repairs to the South Bed Tower walls are required due to water damage under Hurricane Fiona. The scope involve repair and/or replacement of all wall elements included, but not limited to, metal studs, gypsum board, cement paneling, plastering, insulation, exterior cladding, etc. Work also includes painting all repaired surfaces. The contractor shall prepare the surface to be clean of mildew, chalk, peeling paint and other residues. Contractor period of performance shall be 60 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed (NTP). The magnitude of construction is: Between $100,000 and $250,000, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204 (c). The SOLICITATION will be issued on or about January 25, 2023. The site visit is tentative scheduled for February 02, 2023 at 10:00 AM (AST). Puerto Rico is in the Atlantic Standard Time zone. All information for this solicitation will be posted at GPE at SAM.gov. All interested firms must be registered in the System for Award Management SAM.GOV and must be certified SDVOSB and verified in SBA s VetCert program database (https://veterans.certify.sba.gov/) before the solicitation due date.
