The project requires three (3) back up chillers for the existing Chiller 4 and Chiller 5 supplying chilled water to all existing Operating Room (OR) Rooms, located on the existing roof on the 3rd floor of the Miami VA Medical Center, building 1. The condition of the existing Chillers 4 and 5 is critical right now. There is no redundancy and if the Miami VA Medical Center (MVAMC) loses any of the existing chillers, the hospital will lose all the Operating Rooms. Losing any of these existing Chillers will automatically force a shutdown of Patient Care Services, preventing the Main Hospital form performing OR procedures.
