Network Contracting Office 8 (NCO 8) is conducting market research to gain knowledge of potential qualified and capable sources who are regularly established in the marketplace providing commercial carpet cleaning services. The Contractor shall be responsible for allocating all equipment and personnel, including back-up resources, to provide commercial carpet cleaning services at the Orlando VA Medical Center (VAMC) at Lake Nona, the Lake Baldwin VAMC, and Lakemont VA Campus located in Orlando, Florida. This contract requires timely and responsive quality services. Orlando VA Healthcare System (OVAHCS) facilities are multi-floor (1-5 floors) buildings with an aggregate total carpeted area of 325,000 square feet (estimated). Most carpeted areas will be serviced at least once per year and heavy-traffic areas may require additional cleaning as needed. Carpet cleaning will be performed on weekends (from 0800 Saturday through 0200 Monday) at a rate of 10,000 SF per weekend service. The Government is also seeking firms with the capability to provide unscheduled afterhours visits during the week to address accidental spills/stains, as needed. In preparation to perform services, the Contractor WILL be required to move light furniture items (e.g. chairs, wastebaskets); the Contractor WILL NOT be required to move filing cabinets, copy machines, bookshelves, conference tables, refrigerators, or tables with computer equipment. This is a market research/sources sought synopsis only, (not a pre-solicitation notice pursuant to FAR Part 5). This Sources Sought Notice (SSN) is for planning/information purposes only and shall not be construed as a commitment or a promise of a contract by the Government. This is not a solicitation. This notice does not constitute a Request for Bid, Request for Quote or Request for Proposal, nor does it restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach. The Government will not reimburse respondents for any costs incurred in preparation of a response to this notice. Large and small businesses are encouraged to participate in this survey. For the purpose of this acquisition, the NAICS code is 561740 and the small business size standard of $8,500,000.00 is applicable. This survey is to determine the capability of potential sources and the availability of commercial sources and services pursuant to FAR Part 10. Interested parties shall provide a capability statement that addresses the organization s qualifications and ability to perform as a prime contractor for Commercial Carpet Cleaning Services.
