The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. The responses received from interested contractors will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), NCO 08- is conducting a market research survey to identify potential qualified sources capable of providing BRAND NAME OR EQUAL for food service carts at a firm fixed price for C.W. Bill Young VA Healthcare System, 10,000 Bay Pines Boulevard, Bay Pines, FL 33744. CLIN 0001 Brand Name Description: Aladdin Temp-Rite Manufacturer: ALADDIN TEMP-RITE Manufacturer Item Number: SC10E-525 Quantity: 25 each Draft Salient Characteristics: Equal must meet these salient characteristics. Explanation of how equal meets the salient characteristic and must be included with response. Equipment Requirements: Aladdin Temp-Rite SC10E-525 Food Tray Carts Tray carts (10 trays per cart-single door-single tray per slide) and total of 25 carts: Shall allow for 10 (15 x 20 ) food trays per cart with 1 tray per slide (single door) and tray spacing of 5.25 . Shall be constructed of stainless steel with interior welded tube framing. Shall have one single door with full-length handle and 270 degree swing door. Shall have 5 casters. Shall have non-marking corner bumpers. Statement of Need/Salient Characteristics Food Delivery/Retrieval Tray Carts Bay Pines Food and Nutrition Services 1. Scope of Work The Dept. of Veterans Affairs Food and Nutrition Services need to acquire new food delivery/retrieval tray carts that will fit the new cart wash machine being installed in the new kitchen. These carts need to be large enough for proper tray delivery/retrieval and have the ability to turn inside the new cart wash to enable them to be properly cleaned and sanitized in the cart wash machine. 2. Background Food tray carts are utilized to take food trays to/from the patient care units. These carts need to be cleaned and sanitized on a regular basis and when they have transported soiled trays. The new kitchen will have a specific cart wash machine, the Champion RW-72, in which carts are cleaned/sanitized inside. The carts needed to fit inside this machine and fit as many trays as possible in the space require a specific sized cart. 3. Place of Performance The product is requested to be delivered to the Food and Nutrition Department, CW Bill Young VA Medical Center, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, Florida 33744. 4. Period of Performance The product is requested to be delivered within 90 days of award of the contract to the above location (place of performance), no later than October 31, 2023. 5. Type of Contract Supply: Firm, Fixed Price.
