Haley Veterans Hospital, 13000 Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Tampa, Florida 33612, has a requirement for Medtronic AEX Generators with PlasmaBlade technology. BACKGROUND: The James A Haley VA Medical Center Cardiac Catheterization Lab currently has end of life monopolar/bipolar electrosurgical devices due for replacement. The Medtronic AEX Generators are already in use within the facility and will provide continued standardization of care. PURPOSE: These monopolar/bipolar electrosurgical units are used in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab of the Cardiology Department to provide cutting/coagulating needs during catheterization procedures. It is adjustable in RF power levels, can be controlled via handpiece or footswitch, and capable of utilizing two handpieces simultaneously. The PlasmaBlade technology provides an all-in-one dissection device that is precise, effective and efficient for dissection needs.
