Haley Veterans Hospital (JAHVH) Mental Health and Domiciliary has executed a new lease/build to consolidate and expand the mental health and domiciliary clinic, 8501 Temple Terrace Highway, Tampa, Florida 33637, which requires kitchen equipment. The kitchen equipment will include a salamander, wall shelf, and downdraft system griddle. BACKGROUND: The JAHVH Tampa Mental Health and Domiciliary Clinic require a salamander, wall shelf, and downdraft system griddle in the prep area for the kitchen. PURPOSE: Salamander is used as a broiler to perfect grilling, browning, finishing, and toasting food in half the time of a standard oven. A wall shelf is being used to place kitchen tools. A downdraft system griddle is used for cooking food, eliminating smoke and odors by having a downdraft ventilation system built in. All kitchen equipment is required for Nutrition Food Services to prepare meals for Domiciliary patients/veterans. SCOPE: JAHVH Tampa Mental Health and Domiciliary Clinic request contractors to provide a brand name or equal equipment that meets or exceeds the physical, functional, and performance of the listed salient characteristics in this section. The equipment feature is essential to the technical requirements to meet the need of the Nutrition Food Services department. Please confirm if the Salamander will be placed above the K4700. Answer: Yes, the salamander is above the range K4700. Will the Salamander need to connect to the range? Answer: The Salamander is a standalone above range and does not require them to be connected.
