The Government requires the Patient Pharmacy to be reconfigure for additional Freezers and Critical Electrical Power at the Miami VA Medical Center (MVAMC). The current Patient Pharmacy Layout doesn’t have the necessary space available to handle the addition of COVID Freezers and needs to be reconfigured to create a workflow layout from receiving, storage, handling, and shipping. A Design Build (DB) contract will be negotiated for the development of a complete construction/demolition set of documents i.e., working drawings, specifications, reports, and construction period services. The DB Contractor will be given written information; participate in project planning meetings, pre-bid meetings, and pre-construction meetings as required; communicate with VA personnel via telephone or letter; and is expected to coordinate so that the final documents include all requirements in accordance with industry standard practices, VA standards, VA design manuals, and review comments. This project will address the required design and Specifications to provide all Architectural & MEP considerations to reconfigure the Patient Pharmacy for additional Freezers and Critical Electrical Power. The scope of this project includes but is not limited to the following infrastructure improvements: Electrical (Normal/Emergency Power), Building Management System Interfaces, assessment for new and upgrades to existing HVAC, reconfiguration, expansion, and renovation of existing space (demo, new construction, finishes). Project Building locations include Building 1, Second Floor, Room 2A136.
