Provide all labor, materials, tools and equipment, and design-build services necessary for the design and construction of the project described herein and other specific tasks as further defined by this Request for Proposal (RFP). All proposals are to provide both design and construction services for this project. Contractor shall not match existing materials but shall use hospital grade materials as designated in the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) technical information library (TIL) and/or industry standards for healthcare facilities relevant to space usage. Reference section VII, Resources, below. Project Overview: Contractor shall be required to furnish two (2) new Chillers Outdoor type. One of 400 Tons for AHU-1 and AHU-2 and another Chiller of 100 Ton for AHU-1 and AHU-7. Since most of the Chillers are manufactured by Trane, the MVAHS Operations preference is to continue with TRANE Manufacturer with a 5 Year warranty on the compressor OR approved equal. Chillers shall be approved for Outdoor type NEMA 3R enclosure with high saltwater/rustproof protection. Existing CMCC3 shall be replaced by a new Motor Control Center (MCC) as required for this project. Chiller 5A Pumps will be fed from the new CMCC3. All new outdoor electrical disconnect or equipment shall be provided with Stainless-steel enclosure. Chiller Pump disconnects and conduits shall be stainless-steel on the outdoor connections. Include structural steel support base for each Chiller. Chiller 4A will be fed by a different power source for more reliability. The new Chillers location will be located next to the existing Chillers 4 and 5 extending the existing structural support platform. Another possible location for new Chillers will be the roof of the Mechanical Room located in MEA-46 which would need concrete slab poured and roofing with stair access (Bid Option). Chiller 4A (Glycol cooled) set point temperature shall be 32-degree Fahrenheit and chiller 5A (Air cooled) setpoint temperature shall be 40-degree Fahrenheit.
