GENERAL: The Brooksville CBOC Lab which is under James A. Haley Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service (PALMS) is equipped to process patient specimens in preparation for analyte testing. The lab must be equipped with centrifuges for processing lab specimens to ensure specimen integrity during the testing and storage processes with a capacity large enough to sustain workload when the main pre-analytic analyzer is inoperable. 2. BACKGROUND: The centrifuges used in the P&LMS are robust. They are capable of processing large volumes of samples received in the lab. Centrifuges are procured to meet the specimen requirements to complete testing in some cases holding large conical vials down to the basic 5/7ml blood tubes. Some centrifuges can hold more than 70 tubes at one time. Brooksville CBOC Lab is a draw station for the James A Haley lab and process specimens in accordance with the specimen condition requirements. It is a requirement of the testing to centrifuge specimens within certain allowable time frame in order to preserve the integrity of the samples 3. SCOPE: The P&LMS is requesting the purchase of (3) Hettich 320R, brand name or equal, that meets or exceeds the physical, functional and performance of the listed salient characteristics in this section. The equipment feature is essential to the technical requirements to meet the need of the government. Contractor shall provide equipment listed below: 4.
