Network Contracting Office 8 (NCO 8) is conducting market research to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources that can provide muscle and nerve related laboratory testing services that do not require snap freezing. These services are for the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of the Orlando VA Healthcare System (OVAHCS). NOTICE: The Contractor shall provide specialized testing associated with muscle- nerve- and epidermal biopsies for neuromuscular disorders- neuropathy- and small fiber neuropathy. Testing services to include specimen requirements- means of transport for specimens from VA laboratories to contractor s laboratory- required preservatives- and processing and analysis of the specimen. Consultation regarding selection- collection- transportation and result interpretation shall also be provided when required. Services will specifically include muscle biopsy testing and diagnosis- nerve biopsy testing and diagnosis not requiring snap freezing prior to shipment- and epidermal and sweat gland nerve fiber density testing. Contractor will need to provide collection kits with specimen preservatives- shipping materials- and instructions on specimen handling and transport. Lastly- Contractor will also need to mail test results to Pathology - Laboratory Medicine- Histology Department at Orlando VA Medical Center. This is a market research/sources sought synopsis only (not a pre-solicitation notices pursuant to FAR Part 5). This Sources Sought Notice (SSN) is for planning/information purposes only and shall not be construed as a commitment or a promise of a contract by the Government. This is not a solicitation. This notice does not constitute a Request for Bid- Request for Quote or Request for Proposal- nor does it restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach. This survey is to determine the capability of potential sources and the availability of commercial sources and services pursuant to FAR Part 10. Interested parties shall provide a capability statement of your firm to demonstrate your understanding and ability to perform as a prime contractor for these services.
