All information received in response to this RFI that is marked as proprietary will be handled accordingly. The submission of pricing, delivery method and/or lead times, warranties, capabilities for planning purposes, and other market information is highly encouraged and allowed under this RFI In Accordance With (IAW) FAR Part 15.201(e). SOURCES SOUGHT DESCRIPTION This is NOT a solicitation announcement. This is an RFI/Sources Sought only. The purpose of this Sources Sought/RFI is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification relative to NAICS 333517. Responses to this notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this notice, a solicitation announcement may be published. Responses to this notice are not considered adequate responses for a solicitation announcement. The Orlando VA Healthcare System located in Orlando, FL (NCO8) is conducting market research to determine the availability, and technical capabilities, of businesses that can provide a Class 1 Fiber Laser for engraving purposes, and to barcode surgical instruments for the Censitrac/Real Time Location Service (RTLS). Statement of Work for Class 1 Fiber Laser Engraver for RTLS/Censitrac Applications Class 1 Fiber Laser must provide the following capabilities: Compact tabletop design. Enclosed interior laser marking space. Compatible with Real Time Location Service (RTLS)/Censitrac network. Can load and engrave more than one (1) instrument at a time. Full automation to barcode instruments, and ability to automatically align laser marks to instrument parts without the need of fixtures. Part validation, Pre-mark verification: equipment can verify that instruments are not already marked. Programmable Z-axis. Can engrave more than one (1) instrument at a time during a single standard cycle. Data and image logging. Must come equipped with scanners to scan instruments in for gross decontamination. Laser can apply various types of contents on different kinds of materials from organic materials, ceramics, glass, plastics and metals. Are you the manufacturer, distributor, or an equivalent solution to the items being referenced above? Does your company have a Federal Contract with GSA, VA NAC, NASA SEWP, or any other Federal Contract that can be utilized to procure the requirement listed above? If so, please provide the contract number and expiration date of existing contract. Please submit your capabilities that show clear, compelling, and convincing evidence that you can meet the requirement described in the Statement of Work (SOW) above. Responses to this notice shall be submitted via email to Robert Bish at robert.bish@va.gov. Telephone responses shall not be accepted. Responses must be received no later than Friday May 22, 2020 at 1:00 EST. If a solicitation is issued, it shall be announced at a later time and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this notice.
