SYNOPSIS: The Government is issuing this request for information as defined in FAR 15.201(e), to obtain information about pricing, delivery and other market information for planning purposes concerning timer switches. This RFI is not a request for competitive proposals; therefore, responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The Government is seeking information regarding American made digital timer switches as described in the Technical Information Library section 26 09 23 Lighting Controls, paragraph 2.4, which states; 2.4 TIMER SWITCHES A. Digital switches with backlit LCD display, 120/277 volt rated, fitting as a replacement for standard wall switches. 1. Compatibility: Compatible with all ballasts. 2. Warning: Audible warning to sound during the last minute of on operation. 3. Time-out: Adjustable from 5 minutes to 12 hours. 4. Faceplate: Refer to wall plate material and color requirements for toggle switches, as specified in Section 26 27 26, WIRING DEVICES. All products submitted shall be compliant with the Buy American Act (BAA) Interested parties are encouraged to submit company and product literature. Response to RFI: RFI responses shall also include: Name of the primary point of contact for the response Business Title Identify the firm as a small or large business Any institution or organization affiliation(s) Email Address & Phone Rough order of magnitude in terms of cost on an each unit basis Interested parties are invited to submit a response to this Sources Sought Announcement. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY This Sources Sought Announcement is issued solely for information and planning purposes and to identify interested sources. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. No contract will be awarded from this announcement. This Sources Sought does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. It is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. Further, unsolicited proposals will not be accepted. Funding is not available at this time. The United States Army has not made a commitment to procure any of the items/services discussed, and release of this Sources Sought Announcement should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. Response to this Sources Sought Announcement is voluntary and no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this and any follow-on information requests. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned. Not responding to this Sources Sought Announcement does not preclude participation in any future RFP if any is issued. It is the responsibility of the potential responders to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to this subject.
