The Atlanta VA Healthcare system, Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service, has a requirement for a Cryostat. Frozen Lab sections require the use of a cryostat. The frozen section test is an intraoperative (STAT) test provided to surgeons to guide intraoperative management. Without a cryostat, frozen sections will cease, negatively impacting surgical patient care. The VA site will install and configure the equipment; therefore, installation is not required by the Contractor.
