Please note: This is not a request for proposals, quotations or bids. Responses to this sources sought announcement will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. No solicitation is currently available. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The applicable NAICS code for this RFI is 811210. All firms responding to this Sources Sought Notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request to be considered for a contract award. All sources that are able to provide technologies meeting criteria in this announcement should submit their interest to ATTN: William.prenzler@va.gov All information received in response to this notice that is marked proprietary will be handled accordingly. Acknowledgement of receipt of responses will not be made, nor will respondents be notified of the government's view of the information received. Responses to this notice will not be returned. The Contracting Specialist has determined from market research conducted that support services on the Medtronic O-Arm mobile R/F unit and S8 Stealthstation image-guided stereotactic system located at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Decatur, GA (Atlanta VA Healthcare System) shall be performed by manufacturer trained service engineers. The work requires that the vendor provides all hardware and software support for the equipment that is proprietary in nature. Due to the proprietary nature of the software, only Medtronic, the manufacturer, is qualified to maintain the imaging system and image-guided stereotactic system and all hardware and software. The only company that is capable of providing these services is Medtronic Inc. Furthermore, the Contracting Officer has determined that no opportunities exist for competition for either Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) or Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB). The Contracting Officer has determined Medtronics Inc. is the only authorized vendor for this procurement. All software shall be maintained in proper operating condition as specified by the manufacturer.
