RFQ; 36C24723Q0052-Regulated Medical Waste & Sharps Removal Services Answers to the questions below: Please provide the volumes of pharmaceuticals by waste type Ex. Controlled lbs, RCRA lbs, nonRCRA lbs. Answer: We autoclave around 90% of our medical waste on-site with our Sani-pack sterilization system. This service will mainly be for our sharps and pathological waste. Section B.1 , general requirements indicates that the waste can be disposed of as applicable by law, however, section B.9 states it must be incinerated, can you please clarify which is correct? Incineration would be more costly, and over classification of most of your waste. We would recommend autoclaving as it is acceptable by all federal and state regulations and more cost effective. Answer: Because we are only talking about sharps and pathological waste, we are asking for incineration. Are the sharps at the facility s disposable sharps? Answer: The sharps are disposable. Can you provide the weights per waste stream? Ex. RMW, pathological, chemotherapeutic, controlled, RCRA, Non RCRA. Answer: The weight I provided is for the sharps and pathological waste. Pharmaceutical waste is stated in the statement of work, but not referred to again in the price schedule. Answer: This can be removed from the statement of work; this waste is taken by another contractor.
