This procurement is for 167 Centrella Smart + Beds in accordance with FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items and specifically FAR 13.501 Special Documentation Requirements, where acquisitions conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, but still require a justification using the format of FAR 6.303-2. The purchase of 167 Centrella Smart + Beds is to replace current broken and outdated beds. The replacement of the older hospital bed frames and mattresses provides new technology in the therapy surfaces/mattress and bed frames to prevent adverse advents. The new bed frames and surfaces will provide dependability and reliability providing replacement bed frame and newer technology (HR/RR continuous monitoring to monitor patients more closely) replacement mattresses for patient comfort, new technology (Incontinence monitoring and detection), and to prevent hospital acquired pressure ulcers. The beds will provide new technologies to care for our patients Acute Care Unit and Community Living Center Units.
