The VA is conducting market research to identify qualified sources for a Design-Build replacement of the pneumatic tube system at the Hampton VA Health Care System in Hampton, VA. The work includes A/E design, existing conditions verification, removal/disposal of the current system, and procurement/installation of a new system in Building 110 areas including Blood Draw, Mechanical Room, Interstitial Room, Emergency Department, and Laboratory. The proposed contract is expected to be competitive, firm-fixed-price, using FAR Part 36 two-phase design-build procedures, with a construction magnitude between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, documentation, training, system activation, and a one-year warranty after final acceptance, with future expansion possible subject to funding. Interested contractors should submit a capabilities statement covering company information, business size/type, bonding capacity, and similar project experience; any socio-economic set-aside will depend on market research responses.
