DOCK AND DECK PLATE REPAIR
The project involves removing and replacing dock plates and performing associated concrete and structural work at Buildings 14 and 15 at the Salem VA Medical Center in Salem, Virginia. Building 14 work includes sawcutting asphalt, removing existing curb, forming and pouring a retaining wall, curb, and concrete drive, extending handrail, and installing dock bumpers. Building 15 work includes removing the existing pit leveler, infilling the pit, pouring a new concrete slab, and installing a new hydraulic pit leveler and bumpers. All work must comply with VA standards, local building codes, and OSHA safety requirements, with inspection by the VA contracting officer's representative. The period of performance is 120 days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed, and work scheduling must be coordinated with VA Engineering.
