Work will be performed at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC, and includes masonry maintenance and repair for seven campus buildings. The scope covers repointing, masonry accessory replacements, lintel repairs, repainting, cleaning, sealant replacement, regrouting, and precast/slate repair, with all work outside occupied buildings and requiring safety and infection control measures. The base bid includes full repointing on Buildings 7, 11, 19, and 21, and limited repointing on Buildings 5, 6, and 13, with a 270-day performance period. Five alternates reduce the scope and performance duration, ranging from 255 days down to 180 days, by progressively deleting or limiting work on specific buildings. The project includes deduct alternates as required by drawings and specifications.
