This is a sources sought announcement only. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified potential offerors. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. The Government is not obligated to, nor will it pay for or reimburse any costs associated with responding to this sources sought synopsis request. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. The Department of Veterans Affairs Durham VA Medical Center (VAMC) located at 508 Fulton St, Durham, NC 27705 is seeking potential sources capable for Patient Pick-Up and Delivery From/To VAMC: Services for Wheelchair Vans drivers shall report to the VAMC Durham Emergency Department (ED) to check in for each transport. The Health Administration Service is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The contractor shall check-in/out with the ED during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday and with the Administrative Officer of the Day (AOD), ED entrance all other times to sign the driver s log. The contractor shall provide telephone numbers and fax numbers for receiving requests for services. If the contractor fails to furnish the service within 45 minutes after receiving a request, including messages left on answering machine or with answering services, the Medical Center reserves the right to obtain the service from another source and charge the contractor for the additional expenses. Transport of baggage with veterans shall occasionally be required. The NAICS code for this procurement is 485999, This industry comprises establishments primarily engaged in providing All Other Transit and Ground Passenger Transportation This U.S. industry comprises establishments primarily engaged in providing ground passenger transportation (except urban transit systems; interurban and rural bus transportation, taxi and/or limousine services (except shuttle services), school and employee bus transportation, charter bus services, and special needs transportation). Establishments primarily engaged in operating shuttle services and car pools or vanpools (except ridesharing and ridesharing arrangement services) are included in this industry. Shuttle services establishments generally provide travel on regular routes and on regular schedules between hotels, airports, or other destination points; Small Business Size Standards $19 Million.
