Sources Sought Notice Page 4 of 4 Sources Sought Notice Page 1 of 4 The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6 on behalf of Richmond VAMC is conducting Market Research through this source sought notice to help determine the availability of qualified Businesses, capable of providing Scientific Laboratory Furniture for space in the Polytrauma Building 515. The project is located at the Richmond VA Medical Center, 1201 Broad Rock Blvd Building 515, Richmond, Virginia 23249. Scientific Laboratory Furniture is needed at the facilities that meet the following: Functions to be performed: Scientific Laboratory Furniture has several functions, including providing a good environment for scientific endeavors and various discovery. Laboratory furniture provides sufficient efficiency, safety, and overall productivity in a lab. It makes the lab work more comfortable. Well-selected lab furniture increases the workflow but also contributes significantly to lab safety. Laboratory furniture or lab furniture is an essential component to designing a standard lab as well as creating a good environment for scientific endeavors. A well-equipped laboratory is the main factor in the various discovery and scientific investigations. Essential Characteristics: Finishes: Metal Base Cabinets: Powder Coat Slate Gray, Metal Upper Cabinets: Powder Coat Driftwood, Countertops: - ChemSurf Laminate Tan Cabinet Construction: Steel Gauges: 20 Ga. Cabinet Shells, Drawers, Door Faces, 18 Ga. Bases, Internal Frames, Doors (Internal), 12 Ga. Base Supports. Drawers: Smoothly opening drawers put contents at your fingertips without sagging. Precision-made drawer slides, consisting of an outer channel, intermediate channel and center track move freely on a continuous series of ball bearings for effortless operation. Accurately machined grooves assure precise fit to eliminate any side-play between members. Special rollers facilitate the disengagement and re-entry of the integral chassis and track section into the remaining side members and subsequently into the cabinet. Heavy-duty cold rolled steel drawer construction combined with the precision slide mechanism results in related load capacities far in excess of requirements. Failure to provide the above information may result in the potential offeror being considered incapable of meeting the VA s needs. If the contractor can provide the above items, the contractor shall provide a letter from the manufacturer stating they are an authorized distributor/licenser of their products. Failure to submit an authorized distributor letter shall result in the product(s) potentially offered to be considered grey market and shall not be considered technically acceptable. The capability statements received from this market research are for planning purposes only and will assist the Government in planning its acquisition strategy. This is strictly market research, and the Government will not entertain questions concerning this market research.
