SOURCES SOUGHT Sources Sought Only: This is not a request for bids, quotes, or proposals. This is a Sources Sought notice for the identification of potential vendors capable of providing EXC 500 Microscope for the Durham VA Healthcare System, 508 Fulton Street, Durham, North Carolina, 27705 in the very near future. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their business size classification (HUBZone, 8(a), small, small disadvantaged, small veteran owned, or service-disabled veteran owned small business) relative to NAICS 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing and the Size Standard of 1000 employees. Consistent with Public Law 109-461 VA's Veterans First Contracting Program , first priority would be given to Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) and Small Business (SB) concerns, should there be sufficient firms available to compete under a set aside if the requirement goes to solicitation. If insufficient veteran owned and small business response is received to establish the basis for setting this action aside for other than large business participation, then the action will be advertised as full and open competition, in which case, all interested parties responding shall be eligible to bid. Potential vendors should be capable of supplying the following Salient Characteristics: Optical System: Infinity optical system, f=200mm, anti-mold. NIS Infinity optical system. Viewing bodies: Binocular or trinocular (0:100, 100:0, 80:20 split), 30° inclined Siedentopf or ergonomic (0° to 35° adjustment angle) type viewing head, rotatable 360°; interpupillary distance adjustment 47-78mm Eyepieces: Metal eyepieces. Eyepieces come in 25mm field of view instead of the standard 22mm. This means more of the sample can be viewed and limits tunnel vision while looking through the microscope. Nosepiece: Reversed sextuple, ball bearing nosepiece with positive click stops to ensure parcentration. Objectives: Standard configurations include NIS Infinity Corrected Plan 10x, 20x, 40x and 100x oil (*spring-loaded) Stage Mechanical stage with GorillaTM glass insert and tension adjustable controls; size 302mm x 152mm with X-Y movement range of 78mm x 54mm Condenser: Achromat swing-out condenser, N.A. 0.9/1.25 (2x 100x) on a rack and pinion with iris diaphragm Stand: Cast alloy aluminum. Illumination: 3 watt LED Eco-illumination with variable intensity control; LED bulb is rated for over 25,000 hours of continued use. It should have a sensor to turn to microscope off after 20 minutes if no user is detected. Universal power supply 110-240v. Focusing System: Coaxial focusing system with adjustable tension control and upper limit stop to prevent accidental damage to slides; all metal gears, brass fine focus gear. Excelis CAMHDS Camera System that does not require software to be used and has a built in Retina display screen included on the front. HDMI output used to connect directly to a projector or flat screen TV without using a computer. The camera and microscope are typically sold as a complete unit. A 0.35x photo adapter that will work on the 1/3 chip camera. The microscope adaptor is parfocal adjustable to match the image in the microscope so they can focus at the same time. Accessories: Dust cover and instruction manual. Certification: ISO 9001: 2018 and ISO 14001: 2018; UL approved; CE anti-mold Warranty: 5-year limited warranty for parts, labor and electronic components; 1-year warranty on LED bulb Microscope Dimensions (LWH): 300mm x 425mm x 450mm Physical Weight: 30 lbs. Shipping size: 31x21x11 inches Shipping weight: 33 lbs." Again, all respondents shall submit capability statement signifying that they meet the above-mentioned specifications. The capability statements received from this market research survey are for planning purposes only and will assist the Government in planning its acquisition strategy.
