This is a sources sought announcement only. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified potential offerors. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. The Government is not obligated to, nor will it, pay for or reimburse any costs associated with responding to this sources sought synopsis request. This notice shall not be construed as commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. The Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), 1950 Roanoke Blvd, Salem, VA 24153, is seeking potential sources capable of providing painting services. The NAICS code for this procurement is 238320 - Painting and Wall Covering Contractors, Size Standard $19 Million. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, tools, equipment, transportation, and qualified supervision to perform the work as described in the contract drawings and specifications for Building 4, Canteen Dining & Service areas and Building 7, 1st Floor at the Salem VA Medical Center, Salem, VA. Building 7, 1st Floor Contractor shall prep/paint all existing interior painted 1st floor halls, rooms, & door jambs. Contractor shall scrape existing loose paint and prepare surfaces for painting with 1 primer coat and 2 finish coats. Work shall require prepping/painting hall walls, rooms, and door jambs (both sides of door). Contractor shall assume all painted surfaces contain detectable levels of lead and shall perform work in accordance with OSHA standards for lead in construction. Contractor shall provide all painting labor/equipment/ladders to perform new paint application. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with specifications and drawings. Building 4, Canteen Dining & Service areas Contractor shall prep/paint all existing painted walls, columns, wainscot, window sills & door jambs for building 4 Canteen Dining & Service areas. Contractor shall scrape existing loose paint and prepare surfaces for painting with 1 primer coat and 2 finish coats. Work shall require prepping/painting walls, columns, wainscot, window sills & door jambs. Contractor shall assume all painted surfaces contain detectable levels of lead and shall perform work in accordance with OSHA standards for lead in construction. Contractor shall provide all painting labor/equipment/ladders to perform new paint application. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with specifications and drawings.
