INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office (NCO 6), intends to enter into a sole source procurement with Hologic, (MA) Inc., 100 Indigo Creek Dr. Rochester, NY 14626 for procurement of the following: One (1) ThinPrep T5000 Processor to include consumables and reagents. This acquisition is for a firm-fixed-price base and four (4) option year contract to be delivered/used at the Richmond VA Medical Center. ThinPrep® T5000 Processor - Is the only conventional method of Pap smear preparation for use in screening for the presence of atypical cells, cervical cancer, or its precursor lesions (Low-grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesions, High-grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesions), as well as all other cytologic categories as defined by The Bethesda System for Reporting Cervical/Vaginal Cytologic Diagnoses. No other automated processor can meet the level of quality and throughput as the ThinPrep® T5000 processor. NAICS code 6640 applies to this procurement. The size standard is 1,000 employees. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to procure from one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This Notice of Intent is not a request for quotations. All responsible sources that identified their interest and capabilities will be evaluated for the sole purpose of determining whether competitive opportunities exist to meet this requirement.  Late submissions will not be considered. Responses must be submitted to the Contracting Officer Gordon Burns, at gordon.burns@va.gov. no later than 10:00 am, EST on 26 Jul 2023. No telephone inquiries will not be accepted.
