Inspect/Repair Firestop Maintenance Program GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK: The Fayetteville VAMC currently has the need for a contractor to establish a firestop maintenance program and provide an inspection and repair of the fire/smoke rated barrier walls in Building 1, 3, 70, 71, 72, and 73 of the Medical Center. The contractor will, upon successful award of the contract provide an inspection report of the various fire/smoke barriers to include supplying all labor, equipment, parts, material and expertise to develop a firestop maintenance program. General Information Company must be recognized as a service disabled veteran- owned small business and provide documented evidence of company s history, personnel and facility capabilities with their bid. Scope of work Perform quarterly life safety surveys and provide updated Statement of Condition drawings. Inspection of fire/smoke rated barrier walls (smoke resistive hazardous areas). Walls included are: rated barrier walls. 3 hour fire barriers 2 hour fire barriers 1 hour fire barriers 2 hour fire/smoke barriers 1 hour fire/smoke barriers 30 minute smoke barriers Smoke resistive hazardous areas Non-rated smoke partition Non-rated smoke barrier. Life Safety Drawing may be updated at anytime due to construction completion or reviews by appropriate Fire Protection Engineer. Demo Installation of UL firestop systems may require removal of foreign material (including, but not limited to, drywall mud, mortar, spray foam, fireproofing, and structolite) to create required annular space to accept UL firestop system Installation Install UL firestop systems per the manufactures UL cut sheets for all penetrations and joints which are currently not sealed (or the post installed firestop product surface area) under 12 x 12 (or the aggregate square inch equivalent) found to be deficient. Install UL firestop system identification labels to all repaired penetrations and or joints. Engineering Judgements When field conditions are outside the parameters of an UL tested system and engineering judgment will be obtained from the manufacture and installed. Documentation All information will be recorded electronically during quarterly inspections and will be maintained using an Electronic Drawings-based tracking and verification program that utilizes (facility provided) life safety drawings to denote all inspection and deficiency locations. Opening any of the marks/notes on the drawings will display a page detailing the deficiency type, UL system deployed, product used, wall type and date/time of repair as well as before and after pictures. One copy of the following reports will be supplied in both electronic and hard-copy format: A spreadsheet report documenting the deficiencies repaired, location, corrective action, product used and UL system. UL cut sheet for each system used will also be supplied Pictures of each deficiency (before and after repair) and UL system employed A report listing outstating large deficiencies that fall outside the 12 x 12 parameters along with photos, recommended ILSM, UL recommendation for repair, and cost estimate. Repairs greater than 12 x 12 will be funded on a separate CLIN as needed. An open item report listing areas that were not accessible A one year warranty on all materials and workmanship.
