Good Day, The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6 on behalf of VISN 6 is conducting Market Research through this sources sought notice to help determine the availability of qualified Businesses, registered under NAICS code 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, capable of providing a leased microbial identification testing system, maintenance, preventative maintenance, and test kits for 6 VA Medical Centers in North Carolina and Virginia. The salient characteristics are as followed: Microbial Identification able to perform STAT (Results within 1 hour) testing for vaginalis and shall be able to identify infections caused by multiple organisms. User-friendly system requiring minimal hands-on time with walk-away capability and present clear visible results for the interpretation by the user. System shall not be affected by interfering substances such as vaginal lubricants. System is required to include a transport system that is stable for at least 72 hours at ambient temperature for those specimens collected at outpatient clinics and remote sites. System will require the ability to perform batch testing. System shall include a quality control program that meets College of American Pathologists (CAP and The Joint Commission regulatory guidelines and ensures proper test performance including but not limited to: 1) internal quality control with each test performed, and 2) external quality. All respondents shall indicate the following: Whether or not they are small business manufacturers of the products they wish to offer, or Whether or not they are distributors of a small business manufacturer. Whether their product is on a federal supply schedule or open market. Failure to provide the above information may result in the potential offeror being considered incapable of meeting the VA s needs If the contractor can provide the above items, the contractor shall provide a letter from the manufacturer stating they are an authorized distributor/licenser of their products. Failure to submit an authorized distributor letter shall result in the product(s) potentially offered to be considered grey market and shall not be considered technically acceptable. If the contractor can provide the above product and services, please indicate in your response that the above requirements can be met and provide a brochure of its product. The capability statements received from this market research are for planning purposes only and will assist the Government in planning its acquisition strategy. This is strictly market research and the Government will not entertain questions concerning this market research.
