Networking Contracting Office 6 Intends to award an Emergency sole source contract for Peer Recovery Services for the Hampton VAMC in fulfillment of the Clay Hunt SAV Act. The objective of this procurement is to award an Emergency single source award contract to the incumbent contractor, Western Tidewater Community Services Board (WTCSB), for three (3) months in order to avoid service interruption until VA Staff can be hired and trained to provide the Peer Recovery services being requested. Initial Market Research uncovered that Awarding a contract to any other vendor would require additional time to hire personnel, to relocate and to set up a facility that is within the preferred 50-mile radius of the Hampton VAMC. Therefore, the Contracting Officer determined that Based on the urgency and the vital need to provide the Peer Recovery services, that awarding a three (3) month Emergency Sole Source contract to the current contract holder would be in the best interest to the Government while the Hampton VAMC completes the hiring and training of the new VA Staff employees that will take over the program.
