PRESOLICITATION NOTICE Project 658-18-111 Repaint Various Buildings Exterior Finishes The Department of Veterans Affairs, Salem, Virginia has a requirement for a contractor to provide all labor, materials and supervision necessary to completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for Project # 658-18-111 Repaint Various Buildings Exterior Finishes, as required by accompanying drawings and specifications/documents. Contractor shall prep/paint all existing painted wood surfaces for Buildings 1,2,4,5,7,8,9,10,11,12,74, 75,76 and 77. The work will be performed on all exterior wooden surfaces located on each building to include all soffit, facia, cornice, dormers, pediments, and wood trim around exterior doorways for each building. Contractor shall scrape existing loose paint and prepare surfaces for painting with 1 primer coat and 2 finish coats. Work will require removal of existing lead-based paint as needed to prepare surfaces for repainting. Location of Performance: Salem VA Medical Center (VAMC), 1970 Roanoke Blvd., Salem VA 24153. Magnitude of construction is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. In general, the work includes prep/paint all existing painted wood surfaces for multiple buildings on the campus of Salem VA Medical Center. The work will be performed on all exterior wooden surfaces located on each building to include all soffit, facia, cornice, dormers, pediments, and wood trim around exterior doorways for each building. Contractor shall scrape existing loose paint and prepare surfaces for painting with 1 primer coat and 2 finish coats. Contractor shall assume all painted surfaces contain detectable levels of lead and shall perform work in accordance with OSHA standards for lead in construction.
