The Department of Veterans Affairs, Mental Health and Behavioral Science Service has an acquisition need for short message vanity codes, [838255] (VETALK) and [98801] (for 988 press 1), shall provide a point of access through Short Message Service (SMS) communications to the Veteran Crisis Line (VCL) staff for Veterans, Service members, and their families, who are in an emotional/suicidal crisis or want to connect with the VCL for services. Objective- The objective of this requirement is for a contractor to lease the short message vanity code, 838255 VETALK and 98801, to the VCL. Unique Characteristics- A vanity code is a dedicated CSC and is leased through the CSCA. A vanity code is a series of numbers which correspond to a word on a typical phone s keypad. The vanity code will be utilized by the Veterans Crisis Line SMS program. The vanity codes are necessary as it provides wireless users with an easy way to remember keywords, 838255 (for VETALK) & 98801 (for 988 press 1). Award Information- The period of performance shall be for one base period and four, 12-month option periods. Option periods are exercised as required and are not guaranteed.
