Transitional Housing for Vets with Severe Mental Illness (SMI) The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Washington, DC Medical Center (DC VAMC) is soliciting proposals from contractors in the Metropolitan Washington, DC area to provide a community based transitional housing service to Veterans with severe mental illness (SMI), who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The purpose is to provide low barrier non-threatening 24/7 hours transitional housing for Veterans with severe Mental Health Illness or Co-occurring disorder, SMI being the leading diagnosis. Large and small businesses as well as non-profit organizations are welcome to respond; please note credit will be given to Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses or Veteran Owned Small Businesses having the capacity to provide this service. The NAICS Code for this solicitation is 624229. The government anticipates making a single award, fixed priced, indefinite delivery - indefinite quantity contract for this requirement. The contract will be for a period of one (1) base year, plus four (4) option years. To be eligible for award, contractors must be registered in the data base (SAM) at www.sam.gov.
