Contracting Activity: Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 05, Huntington Medical Center Huntington VAMC, 1540 Spring Valley Dr, Huntington, WV 25704. 581-22-2-506-0150 2. Brief Description of Supplies/ Services required and the intended use/Estimated Amount: Service needs Brand Name Resolute Industrial MTS24SAAD46/200, York Semi-Hermetic Compressor 460V delivered to replace existing non operable chiller part to be delivered within 30 days. 3. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: Brand requirement is highly specialized to replace current non operating chiller to maintain the temperature of VA Equipment and save cost on cooling. Replacing compressor cooler part will significantly reduce VA cost. 4. Market research conducted and results: 2+SDVOSB found on VIP under NAIC 333912. 0+SDVOSB found under 333912 PSC 4310. 0 GSA/SAC/NAC/ contracts found. FPDS/SAM searched yielded 0 Contracts. Setting aside would violate the NMR. Based on this market research, the CO concluded that there was not a reasonable expectation that the agency would receive two or more bids from responsible small business manufacturers, or distributors of products manufactured by small businesses, and therefore the agency was not obligated to set the procurement aside for small businesses or SDVOSBs under FAR §§ 19.502-2(b) and 19.102(f). JA and RFQ will be posted. 5. Contracting Officer's Certification: Purchase is approved in accordance with FAR13.106-1(b).
