Blood Culture Analyzer The Martinsburg VAMC has a requirement for a blood culture analyzer for detection of positive blood cultures. The analyzer procurement shall include Myla software in order to provide the facility s existing Vitek 2 Compact 60 microbiology analyzer and the new blood culture analyzer with a supported data management platform to maximize workflow. The requirement is for a fully automated blood culture analyzer that can automatically load and unload bottles. The unit shall have blood volume level detection and not be a human/manual process. The unit shall have notification alarms for improperly filled bottles, including remote notification. The equipment shall provide scan error alerts instantly. The analyzer shall perform imaging of the bottle to provide instant recognition of barcode labels; it shall read the barcode for lot authentication and expiration date. The equipment shall be able to utilize the Lab s existing identification and susceptibility testing which utilized Biomerieux culture bottles, identification cards, and susceptibility cards. The analyzer shall have a VA Enterprise Risk Analysis completed for network connection.
