Battery Powered Equipment - Inspections and Preventative Maintenance I. SCOPE OF WORK The Contractor shall provide all personnel, management, material, equipment, supplies, labor and transportation to perform four (4) inspections per year and any related calls for service on ten (30) Battery Operated Devices as listed on Attachment A which are located at the VA Medical Center located at Perry Point, MD The preventative maintenance will include: The entire equipment to be lubricated, and inspected quarterly (every 90 day) Check entire equipment for lubricant, electrolyte or pneumatic leaks. Check condition of batteries and report any action necessary for recharging or replacing. Check specific gravity of all battery cells and report any deficiencies. Load test each battery and report any deficiencies. Add proper electrolyte to batteries as needed. Inspect all battery terminals and electrical connections. Clean/tighten all battery terminals and electrical connections as necessary. Inspect and adjust brake system as necessary. Inspect and adjust steering system as necessary. Check all instruments for proper operation. Check battery charging system for proper operation. Operate unit to test all functions and effectiveness.
