Please provide the specifications for the fence and gates. In the SOW, it says 155' LF- 6' High of steel fencing, please provide more details on the style of fence. A1. In the SOW- Technical Specification section, there is a Basis of Design and Altenate Bid fence. Q2. Can you please provide pictures of the existing fence and gates if the new fence is to match the existing fence? A2. The new fence does not necessarily have to match the existing fence. Only the gate and gate post location need to remain to not disturb the paver blocks. The SOW stated the contractor to determine if the existing fence concrete piers are to be reused. If the existing piers are not to be reused, they are to be removed. Q3. What Davis-Beacon wage rate do the fence installers fall under? We have seen them fall under different classifications based on different jobs and locations and just want to make sure we are using the correct wage rate for the fencing installers A3. You must place them under the wage determination for the most appropriate occupational category of this project type. Q4. One other question I would like to ask is if a bid bond (offer guarantee) will be required with this project A4. A bid Bond is not required; however Performance and payment bonds are Q5. The Basis of Design Question, Can you confirm that the Alternate for the Basis of Design has the same base plate installation as well as the same hole pattern for the base plate? A5. I cannot confirm any of the alternate fences have the same hole pattern or pier attachment detail as the existing fence. Between the basis of design and both alternates, there is enough detail for the contractor to provide an alternate fence. If any proposed fence is not either of the alternates, the contractor shall provide fence information with their bid. Another alternate would be to modify/ add a section to the existing fence. Remove and Replace fencing Alpha Courtyard Erie VAMC The Erie VA Medical Center has a requirement to work both interior and exterior and requires partial modification of the existing aluminum storefront and aluminum entrance and demolition of the existing CLC courtyard steel fence with installation of new steel fence. There are 21 Concrete piers that may or may not need replacement. The scope of work shall consist of furnishing all labor and materials to perform all work in connection with the project.
