NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 4, 1010 Delafield Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15215, intends to award a sole source Firm-Fixed-Price Contract to Natus Medical Incorporated for the provision of the delivering equipment for 3D ear scanning system that located on site at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, Human Engineering Research Laboratories, 6425 Penn Avenue, Suite 400, Bakery Square, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. The scanning system offers the following capabilities: 1) The ability to produce a detailed, accurate, and contiguous rendering of the ear encompassing the ear canal and extending outward to the external ear; 2) No requirement for use of consumables subject to expiration. Given that scans would be obtained intermittently due to the nature of human subject s research, consumables could expire before use leading to wasted resources. Use of consumable would increase administrative burden for recurring orders; 3) Output files that are compatible with existing software, allowing accessibility to data obtained during scans. The equipment components that shall be delivered for this system are as follows: 1) OT Oscan System; 2) Training Kit; 3) Otocloud subscriptions; 4) Training for OTOscan (1/2 day); 5) Individual scan downloads; and 6) OTOscan case. This contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit from a single source under the procedures in FAR 13.106-1(b) used in accordance with 48 CFR 13.106-1. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334516 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. Responsible sources may identify their interest by submitting capability information by 4:30 P.M., EST, on Thursday, August 11, 2022, in order to establish the ability of the source to meet this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this notification.
