INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Lebanon VA Medical Center intends to award a sole source contract by the authority of FAR 6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements) for the System 8 Cordless Driver and Saw attachments with Stryker Corporation of 4100 East Milham Rd Kalamazoo, MI 49001. A determination that only one SDVOSB can meet the requirement is not required. However, in accordance with FAR 6.302(c)(2)(ii), contracts awarded using this authority shall be supported by a written justification and approval described in FAR 6.303 and FAR 6.304. In accordance with FAR 6.305(c), the brand name justification under FAR 6.302-1(c) shall be posted with the solicitation. Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be used, and the resulting contract will be a Firm-Fixed Price contract. The NAICS Code is 339112 and the Size Standard is 1000 employees. This special notice serves as a notice of intent to award a sole source contract, is not a request for competitive proposals, and is not a solicitation or a request for offers. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that a prospective offeror can fulfill the requirements of the solicitation and that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete in this procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
