The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, PA has a requirement for providing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, permits, testing, and reports required for installation of mixing valves. A summary of the scope of work is as follows: Contractor shall supply and install a total quantity of 640 thermostatic mixing valves. Mixing valves shall be Watts 3/8 Series LFUSG-B to match the facility standard and the facility s Legionella Prevention and Control Plan in compliance with VHA Directive 1061 Prevention of Health Care-Associated Legionella Disease and Scald Injury from Water Systems. Valves shall be provided and installed in accordance with Specification 22 05 23 General Duty Valves for Plumbing Piping. The contractor shall follow all federal, state, and local codes, regulations, and standards. Normal working hours shall be 7:00AM to 4:30PM Monday to Friday excluding national holidays. Work outside normal working hours will be required to complete a portion of the required work. For the purposes of bidding, contractors shall assume 50% of the valves will need to be installed outside normal working hours. The magnitude of this VA construction project is estimated to be between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Period of Performance will be approximately 180 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Set-Aside Information: This solicitation is a 100% service-disabled veteran small business set aside (SDVOSB). The SDVOSB must be registered and current in the following websites: www.sam.gov and https://www.vetbiz.va.gov/vip. Offerors shall ensure registrations in these websites is correct, current and valid. The NAICS code for this project 236220 - Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. The small business size standard is $39.5 Million. A pre-proposal conference and site visit will be held within two weeks after issuance of the solicitation. The exact date/time/location of the conference will be specified in the solicitation.
