NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 4, 1010 Delafield Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15215-1802, intends to award a sole source Firm-Fixed-Price Contract to Cardiofocus, Inc, 500 Nickerson Road, Marborough, MA 01752-4695, for the provision of providing equipment and materials to operate the HeartLight System at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, University Drive Campus located in Pittsburgh, PA. The HeartLight X3 System provides the following capability: unique RAPID mode which leverages a precise motor control system that enables uninterrupted, high-speed, circumferential lesion creation under direct control of the physician resulting in consistently reduced procedure times. Equipment that will be acquired for this system is as follows: Excalibur Catheter 5 each HeartLight Sheath 5 each Balloon Fill Media 5 each HeartLight Endoscope 2 each This contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the procedures in FAR 13.5 used in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 1901. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334510 with a small business size standard of 1,250 employees. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. Responsible sources may identify their interest by submitting capability information by 4:30 P.M., EST, on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, in order to establish the ability of the source to meet this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this notification.
