If like model is being proposed other than The Taski Swingbot 2000; at no cost to VA or this acquisition, no greater than two weeks of acceptance of proposal, the vendor must physically produce or bring the machine to proposed location and demonstrate by robotic floor machine, demonstrate and provide evidence of actual use, safety, all stop, sonar, sensors, laser sensors, onboard computer, machine itself in the field the proposed machine. The field being one of two campus at VAPHS. It is noted many vendors may sell this specific robotic machine. For this acquisition, the vendor must be within 300-400 mile range of the VAPHS station for purpose of machine, service and support. The vendor is capable of full delivery of machine that includes overseeing arriving of machines at both campus station, uncrating or unpackaging machine, checking and testing machine. Machines arriving with any defect parts such as flat tire, flattened tires due to binding or packing, or any delivery due to damage would be unacceptable. GEMS and Green initiatives-Although this characteristic would not be mitigating factor rejecting a proposal; the station prefers the vendor use re-usable pallets or reclaim the wood pallets used for shipping. VAPHS wants the vendor to unpackage on station and is general practice for receiving department and housekeeping machines. The vendor takes away the reusable pallet or wood pallets and parts of crate to be re-used by the vendor for other orders. VAPHS must have estimated weight of the items being reused or diverted from landfill. This data can be furnished at time of unpackaging. All this can be estimated at time of shipping by weight of machine then additional total shipping weight subtracting machine weight from the total weight. Also, VAPHS is requesting the use of bio degradable plastic products for shipping. This could include majority of shipping materials being cardboard, recyclable plastic bindings, wood pallet, but not limited to biodegradable shrink wrap, tape, bubble wrap, etc. For these items, the station has trash and recycling service available. The Taski Swingbot 2000 is a unique robotic floor care machine that was approved by station committee. The required characteristics of the brand name item: The quoted robotic floor scrubber must/shall be: Robotic, automated robotic floor care machine or floor scrubber Projected/theoretical performance range 13,560 square feet per hour hard surface floor space cleaned. Machine quoted must fit the inner width of the door frame. There must be no less than two (2) inches on either left or right side of machine. MIL-R-14864 describes using extreme caution using laser range finding equipment and direct application of laser beam at any point of body can cause serious or fatal harm. Lasers or range finding devices same or similar composition commercial or military grade parts upon machine will not be accepted. The machine sensor must be infrared commonly used in manufacturing processes for start and stop actions and motions. Lasers commonly observed on robotic machines, factory automated robotic and conveyor work systems, etc. Sensors-there are many standards for sensors. MIL-DTL-28788 and multiple other MIL-SPEC standard for sensors. This specification covers the general requirements for flow switches intended primarily for use in equipment to sense velocity and flow of air or liquid.
