The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 2, on behalf of Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 2 South, intends to issue a formal solicitation for a Requirements contract for comprehensive Reference Laboratory and Esoteric Testing Services. The contract will serve the VA Medical Centers.

This pre-solicitation notice is for informational purposes only; a formal RFP for comprehensive reference laboratory and esoteric testing services is expected to be posted on or about October 7, 2026. The VA, through VISN 2 South, intends to issue a requirements contract for routine and STAT specimen pickup/transport, pre-analytic processing, laboratory analysis, electronic and hardcopy reporting, VistA LIS interface, consultations, consumables, and required certifications/accreditations. The contractor must provide all personnel, equipment, transportation, IT, supplies, and supervision necessary to perform the required testing. Services will support the VA medical centers listed in Appendix A, including James J. Peters, VA New Jersey, VA Hudson Valley, VA New York Harbor, and Northport. This acquisition is unrestricted and uses NAICS 621511 for Medical Laboratories.
