This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of potential qualifications of all businesses relative to the North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) 325998 Industrial Salt Manufacturing. The Department of Veteran s Affairs is seeking all qualified business manufacturer or distributors of small business manufacturers to all the following specifications: Requirement: This procurement is required to ensure enough supply of bulk road salt to keep the roads and parking lots at the VA Medical Centers in Buffalo, Batavia, Albany, Canandaigua, and Bath, New York open & safe during winter weather events. The contractor shall provide & deliver bulk rock/road salt ordered on an as-needed basis throughout the winter season as defined during the period of performance (11/01/2024 04/30/2025). The Contractor must provide and deliver Bulk Rock/Road Salt priced per ton that meets the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) specification D632-12 and is treated with yellow prussiate of soda (YPS) as an anti-caking agent. Delivery Requirements: Price per ton for treated rock salt as described above to be delivered FOB Destination. Buffalo and Batavia require FOB Destination same day delivery in the case of emergencies all other facilities require FOB Destination within 3 days ARO.
