This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of potential qualifications of all businesses relative to the North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) 325998 Industrial Salt Manufacturing. The Department of Veteran s Affairs is seeking all qualified business manufacturer or distributors of small business manufacturers to all the following specifications: Requirement: This procurement is required to ensure enough supply of bulk road salt to keep the Castle Point VAMC and Montrose FDR Hospital roads open & safe during winter weather events. The contractor shall provide & deliver bulk rock/road salt as defined herein during the period of performance. The performance period shall be for one base year with four (4) option years as follows: Base Year: 10/01/2024 09/30/2025 Option Year 1: 10/01/2025 09/30/2026 Option Year 2: 10/01/2026 09/30/2027 Option Year 3: 10/01/2027 09/30/2028 Option Year 4: 10/01/2028 09/30/2029 The Contractor must provide and deliver Bulk Rock/Road Salt that meets American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) specification D632-12 and is treated with yellow prussiate of soda (YPS) as an anti-caking agent. There will be a total of 175 tons each, delivered to the salt sheds at each location. 175 tons to Castle Point and 175 tons to Montrose.
