Salient Characteristics - Ultrasound This is a Sources Sought Notice/Request for Information (RFI) to notify interested vendors of the intent to purchase an Animal Ultrasound according to the specification list below. Depending on the response to this RFI, an RFQ may be issued and it may be set-aside to a particular business size or socio-economic category. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. PLEASE DO NOT SEND QUOTES AT THIS TIME AS THEY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Western New York Healthcare System intends to award a firm fixed price contract. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 334510 Other Computer Related Services. This notice is NOT a request for quotes; however all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the Government. All capability statements must be received by no later than 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on July 23, 2021. Responses to be submitted to Morgan Weeks, Contracting Officer at Morgan.Weeks1@va.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. System Description The requirement is for one ultrasound with specifications that meet or exceed those listed in the specifications section. This instrument shall be delivered and installed at the VA Western NY Medical Center Research Service. Specifications The vendor shall supply instrumentation that meets or exceeds the following specifications: The machine must have the ability to image rodents (mice and rats) abdomen, thoracic cavity, and can assist in imaging proper injection into structures of the rodent eye. The transducers listed below are probes that will allow for the imaging listing above. The machine should be adaptable by allowing imaging of a variety of other small animal species and the company should have probes available for purchase.
