The Department of Veterans Affairs and Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP), sole source action against a Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) to; Name of Contractor: Karl Storz Endoscopy America Street Address: 2151 E. Grand Ave City, State, Zip: El Segundo, California 90245 The objective of this action is the procurement of Karl Storz Endoscopy Imaging Items. This requirement is for the procurement of endoscopy imaging equipment (as defined below) for an existing Karl Storz tower and system at the Stratton VAMC. In accordance with FAR 8.405-6(b), the need for compatibility with the existing units limits this procurement to a brand name only requirement. Market research has concluded Karl Storz Endoscopy-America is the sole distributor capable of fulfilling this requirement through a federal supply schedule. The Veterans Health Administration prohibits the use of gray market items in their Medical Centers. Gray market items are considered to be items outside of the original equipment manufacturer s intended distribution channels. All capability statements must be received by no later than 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time on April 26, 2022. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
