The Department of Veterans Affairs and VA Medical Centers, East Orange, NJ intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 Competition Requirements and FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Name of Contractor: Becton, Dickinson and Company BD Biosciences Business Unit Street Address: One Becton Drive City, State, Zip: Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417 The objective of this sole source award is for a firm fixed price contract for the procurement of a replacement BD FACSLyric IVD Flow Cytometry System. Market research has concluded that Becton Dickinson is the only vendor to meet the requirements of VA New Jersey Healthcare System. The Veterans Health Administration prohibits the use of gray market items in their Medical Centers. Gray market items are considered to be items outside of the original equipment manufacturer s intended distribution channels. All capability statements must be received by no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on September 2, 2021. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
