The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 2 is currently conducting a market survey to locate qualified firms capable of fulfilling a requirement for a Leica HistCore AUTOCUT rotary microtome with foot switch and power cord. The specifications are listed below: Leica HistCore AUTOCUT rotary microtome with foot switch and power cord; Semi-automatic instrument for clinical histology and histopathology applications. Must be motorized with semi-automatic with an option for manual operation to use when needed. The purpose of acquiring this equipment is to reduce injuries of employees stemming from repetitive arm, shoulder, and wrist motions. Quick clamping system for specimen holders. Handwheel locking systems. Digital panel able to calibrate controls make it easy to adjust a specimen to an exact zero position. Programmable specimen retraction. Able to alternate between trimming and sectioning function. B. Unit is to be delivered FOB with installation. Delivery location is Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service Deliver to: NJ VA Medical Center, 385 Tremont Ave, Pathology Lab, Room A140, East Orange, NJ 07018 C. VAMC staff training shall be provided by the Vendor as part of the purchase. D. Required items shall be NEW and come with a full one (1) year warranty. The Veterans Health Administration prohibits the use of gray market items in their Medical Centers. Gray market items are considered to be items outside of the original equipment manufacturer s intended distribution channels. Those capable of providing these services should submit a statement regarding their capability on a document containing the official company letterhead. Additionally, those interested and capable shall provide a designated point of contact, the business DUNS Number, and the business Socioeconomic status in their response to this posting. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) is 339112. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification/ socioeconomic status (service-disabled veteran owned small business, veteran owned small business, HUB Zone, 8(a), small business or large business), relative to NAICS 399112. Responses to this notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions.
